Having PuzzleKid on your iPhone or iPod touch is like having a stack of twenty-five wooden cutout puzzles at your fingertips! Each puzzle, an original work of kid-friendly art, has four, five, or more pieces that can be placed to fill the "holes" and complete the image. Just like in wooden puzzles, the shapes of the pieces match the shapes of the "holes," which helps the youngest puzzle workers to learn shape matching. Some of the puzzles incorporate alphabetic cutout shapes, to help with learning the shapes of the letters of the alphabet.
As you start each puzzle, the pieces are in a group alongside the puzzle image, waiting to be fitted. And fitting the pieces couldnt be easier: just touch each piece, drag it to where you think it should fit on in the puzzle image, then let it go. If youve found the right place, the piece fits snugly into place; if youre mistaken, then the piece floats back to the group where you picked it up. Nobodys keeping score, so you can try as many times with any of the pieces as you like, until all of the pieces are fitted. You can easily go to a different puzzle whether youve finished the one youre working on or not. And if you want to start a puzzle over, just shake! You can even hear the puzzle pieces "falling" out of the puzzle image as they return to their starting positions. (And yes, you can adjust or mute the volume of the sound effects for those environments where the sounds would be inappropriate or distracting.)
And thats it! Nothing too complicated to figure out, so even the youngest puzzle solver will be able to become a proficient puzzle piece pusher pronto!
